A bank can only sell you the bank's own products, and a call centre can only read from a script. I work with more than 50 lenders — banks, credit unions, and monoline lenders — so I can actually shop your file instead of just processing it.

A lot of what I do is for people the big banks make hardest to approve: self-employed clients, newcomers to Canada building credit from scratch, and people who've had a rough patch on their credit report. Those are usually the files where an independent broker makes the biggest difference.

I don't make rate promises before I've seen your file, and I don't guarantee approvals — nobody honest can. What I do promise is a straight answer, real communication while your deal is moving, and someone who picks up the phone.
